Welcome to my home page

I have compiled a diary of my trip to swim with dolphins in the Red Sea, with photos! http://www.val.ghose.btinternet.co.uk/sinai.htm

This is a Tibetan flag to remind everyone about the injustice done in that amazing country. The Tibetan government in exile says "At the time of its invasion by troops in 1949, Tibet was an independent state in fact and law. Today's continued occupation of Tibet by China represents an ongoing violation of international law and of the fundamental rights of the Tibetan people to independence" Click on the flag for an interesting link to a Tibetan monastery in India, dedicated to keeping the Tibetan culture and traditions alive today. (the Free Tibet page is very informative!)

Some of my favourite places in the world are :-

....and of course, Dorset in south west England where I choose to live.

I was born and brought up in London, but after a year on the hippy trail to India with my husband, I made my escape to the country.

The stone circles and Celtic inheritance that we have in Britain are fascinating, and I have spent many happy hours discovering some of the ancient stones of Dorset.

All my favourite places have the tranquillity and peace that is so difficult to find in today's busy world - which is why I find the Buddhist practice of Insight Meditation so fascinating. You can find that quality in your life without having to travel to those far-off exotic places!

Another favourite place to spend time is EnglandWorld in Active Worlds.. a place of 3D building and chat. I have always enjoyed science fiction and fantasy, and this is my childhood dream come true. Imagine being instantly linked with people all over the world and in a beautiful, quirky, friendly place - EnglandWorld is it!!

I am very involved with Artsreach, which is Dorset's agency which specialises in rural touring to provide high quality live theatre and arts in villages.

A sound I always loved was church bells floating over meadows, and recently found that it was fun to do, and was created by a friendly and interesting bunch of people.

I enjoy living surrounded by idyllic countryside yet near the sea, in a village with a great social life. I keep 2 sheep and several hens, and have just recently become passionate about Japanese gardens! Our two daughters are my pride and joy - lovely, clever, creative and interesting girls - who both escaped to university and London as quickly as I left it it!!
